Could you do a podcast with a football guy and examine the differences between Goddell and Silver in how they their leagues?

I see people asking for Will Cain, Whitlock or Clay and I zag the other way in the spirit of out of the box guests. We kind of already know how these people will respond to some of your views and criticism of the sports media hive mind. I’d rather someone in that hive mind come on and give their POV. Not in a “debate me/change my mind” kind of way but something overall good natured with a bit of friction. I’d vote for Drew Magary or anyone from Defector, Mina Kimes, Bruce Arthur, etc.

Also need to hear you and Ryan tackle the Mina Kimes / Laura Wagner dust up on the next Callin.

Why are we instituting sharia law by masking March madness cheerleaders?

Chamath Palihapitya would be a good interview.

I’d enjoy listening to someone who knows where so many (proverbial) NBA bodies are buried that they need an alias and voice modulator.

I would love to hear an interview from a current player that is on the fringes of the NBA, on a two-way deal and working their ass off just to get that last seat on the bench. The guy who sees each new draft as more assholes trying to take his job. Quinndary Weatherspoon or someone at that current level.

Jane Coaston. Sports fan, and pretty individualistic takes on cultural issues. Also just seems like a good hang.

Jonathan Isaac or any player, agent, coach, etc that has a view outside the “norm”. Probably hard to get these or even if they do they don’t want to come out and say it but that’s the whole point of journalism. Getting the view, ideas, conversations, that you don’t see everywhere else.

Fuchsia Dunlop, author of Shark's Fin and Sichuan Pepper: A Sweet-Sour Memoir of Eating in China, the book you recommended to me last week. A great read!

I would find Tyler Cowen interesting. Feel you two have a similar sort of basketball fandom, and are likely to produce some novel macro perspectives. I would wager there's a considerable overlap in the content you two consume so non-hoops conversation might be fun.

As someone who is in no way a professional broadcaster, I believe that Nate Duncan is an awful broadcaster who many people could do a better job than.

I think you need to highlight unique Bay Area culture for the out of towners. JTA to talk about Oakland? The old men at the bakery?

Anyone from the Lebatard Show. Dan, Stugotz, or Mike Ryan and find out what a day is like with Meadowlark Media now that they have sooo many podcasts and building their own infrastructure with no bosses outside of John Skipper. I also think you would do a great pod with David Sampson.

This is a technical comment for the audio. I listen on apple podcasts, and the recorded articles are a significantly lower volume than the podcast/interviews. (I don't know if this is from recording/mastering/whatevs.) If I listen to an article, I turn it up, but when it rolls into an interview, that drum intro is rude awakening.
